The Winsen Open-Air Museum is open from 14 April until the end of October. Our museum guides know lots about the interesting day to day and especially noteworthy aspects of life and work in the old half-timbered buildings which date from before the Industrial Revolution.
Numerous events such as the Baking Days, Oldtimer Car Day, special exhibitions about the Christian traditions in Lower Saxony farms or about dwarves, themed guided visits, a church service held in the local dialect, and high quality concerts organised by the Cultural Association (Kulturkreis) of Winsen (Aller) offer a varied programme.
You can enjoy a wide variety of coffee and cake specialities as well as regional dishes in the Kalandstube café and restaurant which has a large outdoor seating area.
